“Learning” is “Not repeating your mistakes.”

I have had a very interesting journey of discovery in drawing these designs. I learned the art of technical drawing as a draftsman in the 1970s; the use of the basic instruments of the art. I slowly learned the intricacies of the art and logic of Islamic geometric design as a self taught adventure.

I eventually began to explore building them in wood.

I have made many many mistakes and gone down many fruitless paths on this journey. You will get one person’s view, created by my personal journey, but I have some results which I hope are interesting and useful. The idea of this website is to shorten your path of learning. The posts will run long. There is much to learn. Enjoy.
